Early lessons from a four month-old start-up
Your Marketing List, a platform that connects start-ups and small/medium businesses to digital marketing freelancers, was launched on September 3rd, 2021.
Four months, 44 prospects. No marketing.
Unique enquires: 67. Each prospect generated 1.5 jobs on an average.
11 customers.
Conversion rate: 25% (11/44).
21 orders. Of which, 10 repeat orders.
What we can deduce from our own data:
Early signs of product-market fit.
We are picking up strong signals that the promise of understanding the requirement and using our experience to find the right solution is a key ingredient.
The repeat orders tell us that our freelancers are doing a great job. We are delivering on our promise to find the right talent for the job at hand.
So, what’s next?
The question we will try and answer over the next 3-4 months:
We have found a niche in the market, but is there a market in the niche?
Can we scale this? Can we prove to ourselves that when we crank the demand lever by spending dollars the prospect numbers will go up proportionately?
Most importantly, will the average revenue per order be more than the cost of acquisition.
Wish us luck.
Whatever happens, we will file a report.
